Come back into the studio with SMC and our fall 2021 Youth Programs — and bring your mask. Registration is open for the following programs:
Makerspace Mondays supports youth trained in media equipment through structured workshops that become youth-led individual or collaborative passion projects with staff support.
YouTuber Tuesday: Learn the tricks of the trade from the masters themselves! Two YouTubers, Evan and Sam, guide students through the highlights and past the pitfalls of being an online streamer. The class is a combination of entertainment and education for the students, so they can learn to apply their interest in social media to a future career.
Somerville Night Live: It’s one thing to be able to tell a joke or two, but learning how to set-up future jokes, and follow up on past ones, takes practice! Learn improv, script writing and the skills to run the whole production! In our media center, the only limit is your imagination.
Please use any of the links above to register for programs for Fall 2021. We will be offering scholarships and accommodations to the program upon request, so please give me a shout if you have a need.
Any time a youth or adult is inside for our Youth Program activities, everyone will be wearing a mask. All SMC staffers have been wearing masks in common areas, but with the recent climb in COVID cases in Somerville, any space that’s a Youth Program space will automatically become a mask-required space.
