While last year’s theme was a decidedly refined aSCATdemy Awards, this year we’re turning up the volume to 11, with a “No Holds Barred” celebration of community media that we’re calling: WrestleMedia 2018.
Yeah, it’s gonna be loud. Yeah, it’s gonna be raucous. But it’s not be missed, overlooked or ignored. In the media world, 2017 has not ended quietly. The future of net neutrality looks ever bleaker and Disney’s move to acquire major entertainment holdings of Fox portends a future of media too big to fail. WrestleMedia 2018 is an opportunity for celebrating the counter narrative that the feisty, plucky, independent voices of community media makers regularly undertake and champion in the face of Goliath-like odds. These unique community voices should never be drowned out. Help us recognize and celebrate the impact these media-makers are having on their/your community. There will be food and beverages to enjoy as well!
