WordPress 101 Camp

WordPress 101 Camp: Saturday, December 2nd and 9th, 11am-1pm
WordPress has become the go-to system for building and maintaining a website, thanks to its flexibility and ease-of-use.  This 2-part workshop is designed for small business owners, individual practitioners, artists and anyone else interested in creating a custom website to showcase their offerings.  Learn everything you need to get started with WordPress, including installation options, choosing and customizing a theme, and uploading/maintaining content.  We will cover the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org, explore some of the most popular plugins, and discuss the basics of blogging. Whether you are just getting started on a new idea or are ready to gain more control over your existing web presence, these workshops will give you the information you need to succeed.  This is a beginning-level course, no coding knowledge required, though basic internet/computer skills are needed.

Instructor Bio: This class is taught by Andy Pyman, a wordpress guru and professional. After moving to the Boston area 10 years ago from Burlington, VT, Andy set up shop as the local go-to guy for all things web. Launching the world of Truly Good with his first client (a yoga teacher and nutritionist) in 2009, he quickly found that surrounding himself with healers, hopers, and lovers was good for both soul and business. Some of his most fulfilling work has included helping to launch “Shift Your Shopping,” a local holiday shopping campaign, and serving as Board President at Somerville Local First. Andy lives in Union Square with his 2 children and enjoys traversing the many nooks and crannies of the urban playground, whether jogging, skating, biking or just plain walking.
