Job Description Summary: Assist in creating lesson plans and teaching middle and high school students basic video production techniques. A variety of production styles will be covered including animation, documentary and narrative. Creativity and familiarity with the video production process is essential. This internship is an excellent opportunity to improve teaching skills and develop a resume reel of student video projects. The internship schedule corresponds to the youth classes and will be during afterschool hours.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Work with staff to develop a curriculum
- Research lessons and create production plans
- Operate SCATV camera, audio and lighting equipment during field shoots.
- Scriptwriting
- Video editing
- Produce programs in the SCATV studio
General Job Requirements: Experience with Art Education with an emphasis in video production, including camera, audio and lighting. Some nonlinear editing with Final Cut Software. Well organized, self-motivated, good writing skills, enjoys working with multicultural teens.
Education and/or Experience: Video production and/or Art Education experience, organization and writing skills.
Language Skills: English. Additional ability to speak Creole, Portuguese and/or Spanish a plus.
Physical Demands: Some lifting may be required.
