August Member of the Month: Fallon Leigh O'Brien

Inside the SCATV studio is a monthly blog post where SCATV staff interviews members, to learn a little bit more about who they are and their background. There is a set series of 10 questions they answer. This month, we hear from our fabulous SCATV Board Member, creative producer, local artist activist, foodie and dedicated volunteer, Fallon Leigh O’Brien! Learn more about Fallon below in her interview with SCATV!

1. Who are you and what do you do? I am Fallon Leigh O’Brien and I exist.
2. What was the strangest job you’ve had? Slaughtering chickens
3. Where is your favorite place to retreat for mental or physical health? Inside of myself.
4. Who were your early creative mentors or source for inspiration? Me & my Mom.
5. How do you get past creative roadblocks? I meditate.
6. How has SCATV/BFR been a positive influence in your creative media career? They’ve shown me an incredible amount of support & love, which is paramount for any creative type.
7. What is your favorite music album? A Winter Garden: Five songs for the season (Loreena McKennitt)
8. If you could have entrance music, what would it be? Anything off of Zebbler Encanti Experience albums.
9. What’s your favorite spot in Somerville to hang out or visit? Home.
10. In 140 characters or less, how would you pitch your show or who you are? A motif of magnificence with a mouthful of marvelous. It blends wild, weird and wonderful into an authentic articulation of seasonal transitions. It’s a real reel, a pheasants eye looking into fun, a bengal stripe on the hood of a nun. Full bodied and pattern prone, it’s the coral on the bottom of the ocean with a blueberry tone. If I had a phone I’d call myself and say, ”Hey, listen Fallon, this coverage of yours is truly egg & dart, tongue and cheek, abbott and costello. You’re like the Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien of Somerville; weaving together a tapestry of comedy, community, care, compassion and understanding.”
